We
here at St. Blues pride ourselves on providing our customers with high-quality
guitars set up to players' strict standards right out of the box. If a
guitar doesn't play right or sound right and is not fixable, we relegate these
guitars & basses to the “Boneyard” for firewood. We will never sell
these.
However, we do have
stock of guitars and basses that have light wear but are functionally sound,
and play and sound great. These are guitars that were at one time rep
samples, possibly damaged in shipping, or are the floor samples from the many
trade and public shows we exhibit at around the world. We offer these at
a discount, and they carry the same limited lifetime warranty as our new
guitars and basses. These are available only here on our website.

This is one of two prototypes we showed at’08 Summer NAMM in Nashville. Built by a local luthier in Hot Springs, Arkansas, and delivered to us at the booth in Nashville at the opening bell of the show. If you look close, you can see light grain through the thin Nitro finish, as if it could have used more filler in the wood. However, it is as smooth as can be, and the bright orange is striking. This model has had a St. Blues stamped hard tail bridge, our standard pickups we use on the pro series, and our tuners by Wilkinson. The neck plate is engraved with “NAMM 2008 USA Prototype”.

If you look close, you can see light grain through the thin Nitro finish, as if it could have used more filler in the wood. However, it is as smooth as can be, and this light bluish color is very unique. This model has had a hard tail bridge by GOTOH, Sperzel Locking tuners, and Kent Armstrong designed pickups. The neck plate is engraved with “NAMM 2008 USA Prototype”.
We love this finish, and only shelved it after a good run in 2008 and early 2009. The pickguard design has changed since then as well, filling out the single horn more than this older design. The Humbucker is wired to be split with a push-pull pot on the master tone knob. If interested, might have a black pickguard to match the black binding. There is typical light wear in the form of scratches you need a magnifying glass to see.
We love this finish, and only shelved it after a good run in 2008 and early 2009. This was one of the last produced, and features the updated pickguard in black to match the binding. It features a push-pull pot on the master tone knob that splits the Humbucker. There is typical light wear, mostly light scratches on the pickguard, although the plastic is still attached.
Although from our latest production run, upon close QC there is a small part (less than an inch) of the binding on the horn that’s a little rough and not glossed like it should be. Clearly nothing mechanical.
Due to a mounting issue with the original neck tele single coil, we routed out the cavity to fit a neck Strat single coil…It sounds VERY cool, enough that we may have to make some more like this. The bridge tele pickup is still a tapped single coil with push-pull tone knob.
Nothing wrong with this B-IV, our most versatile guitar in the arsenal, just an older finish that we are currently not producing. Humbucker can be split with the push-pull tone knob. This is the last B-IV in this finish.
This is a returned rep sample, shown to various guitar stores over a period of 3 months. It was well taken care of, and only has typical light wear in the form of scratches you need a magnifying glass to see. The Humbucker is wired to be split with a push-pull pot on the master tone knob. Very cool, versatile guitar.
This is an older gold finish before we changed to the new, and with one of the older necks that says S&T by St. Blues, which was from one of our earlier runs in 2006-2007. The original neck had issues, and this S&T fit perfectly. Still has the same tuners and bone nut as the original neck. Great price for a very well made passive PJ.
